Downunder and Over the Top

It was Ben's first trip back to Australia in two years.  We took seven plane rides in three weeks. Chicago > LA. LA > Brisbane. Brisbane > Adelaide.  Adelaide > Sydney.  Sydney > Brisbane. Brisbane > LA. LA> Chicago.

In this whirl wind, I met my mother, brother, nephews and sister-in-laws for the first time... spent time with the sweetest little boys named Hugo and Rocco... blew bubbles... talked about secret powers... ate vegemite, tim-tams, twisties and icy poles... decided that the color beige was weak... caught the flu... visited Maleny and the Glasshouse mountains.... avoided blue bottles on the beaches of the Gold Coast... ate the freshest food with the most delightful beet root flavors... caught up with Ben's old friend, who is a photog too... had a photo shoot with blue haired goddess... bought deep red lipstick.... devoured the wine tasting samples at McLaren Vale, Battle of Bosworth and Wirra Wirra... toured Myponga, Carrickalinga, Normanville, Victor Harbor and a few other beaches... found an Old English wool coat at an op shop...watched kangaroo's taking poo's.... discovered a tree wizard at the Raywood Nursery, he could call wild birds to his hands, to feed... his garden was the most enchanted place, I have ever been.... listened to waves crash off the coast of Byron Bay and witnessed stoners smoking bongs inside rock formations... jumped fences, got electrocuted and naked on hillsides... rode LC the horse and was humbled...thought I saw my life flash before my eyes... held my husband tighter than I ever have before.... went twice to a real deal chinese acupuncturist and herbalist.... drank her potion and found Nirvana... watched possums tight rope walk on a wire a few nights before bed... met face to face with three Facebook friends for coffee at the Kettle & Tin.... rummaged through Ben's old books in his storage unit... almost got bumped on our flight home and ended up with perfect leg room seats... Tom Hanks caught us taking a photo of him at LAX... found massive amounts of appreciation for the little customs and cultural differences... absolutely loved every minute of it.

A huge thanks to Mandy, Richard, Jan, Sam, Jodie, Rocco, Hugo, Michelle, Aaron and Peter for making this trip a perfect memory.  We love you.
